Moorabbin Airport is committed to undertaking aviation operations in a noise-aware, ‘Fly Friendly’ manner to lessen the impact on the local community.
We expect aircraft pilots operating into and out of Moorabbin Airport to undertake operations in a manner which is considerate of local residents. The safe operation of an aircraft must be maintained at all times.
This program is voluntarily entered into by our aviation tenants and airport users to minimise the impact of aircraft operations on the surrounding community.
The program was developed in consultation with local aviators, see the fly friendly program for further details.
Noise associated with aircraft operations extends well beyond the boundary of the airport and thus our sphere of control. We work with governments, local communities, aircraft operators, regulators and air navigation service providers to help develop practical solutions to minimise noise impacts off airport.
For information on our aircraft noise management initiatives see the section on noise management.
Airservices Australia is responsible for managing and controlling aircrafts when taxiing, taking off, in flight and landing. Noise concerns related to these activities at Moorabbin Airport should be reported to Airservices Australia on its 24-hour number 1300 302 240 or you can lodge a complaint online. Issues and complaints are monitored on a monthly basis to determine whether there are particular trends or issues evident or whether any aircraft has operated outside assigned tracks or altitude. If so, appropriate investigations are initiated and corrective action is taken where applicable.
All other noise related matters can be referred to Moorabbin Airport Corporation on 03 8587 8000.
